Take Action: Thank Cadbury and Give a Fair Trade Push
Published March 24, 2009 @ 11:54AM PT
The other week, the Fair Trade world was rocked by huge news from Cadbury in the UK that they would be switching their Dairy Milk chocolate to Fair Trade. Everyone within the movement has been excited and have been offering their congratulations for taking such a monumental step toward social change.
Now it is your turn to take action and offer your thanks to Cadbury for sending a huge message to other major chocolate companies to go Fair Trade and also encourage them to expand their Fair Trade commitment. Leading Fair Trade advocates, Global Exchange, the International Labor Rights Forum and Green America have set a campaign encouraging everyone to offer Cadbury their congratulations for their Fair Trade switch in the UK and also to push them to expand their Fair Trade practices through their supply chains in other countries such as the US.
The power of consumers and advocates writing letters and encouraging Cadbury to go improve their performance on human rights and environmental sustainability by going Fair Trade was essential in bringing about this victory. Now, it is time to take it a step further and bring on the positivity and offer our support for their positive change and see to it that they continue along this Fair Trade path.
Head over to the Change.org action page and pledge your support and it will redirect you to the Thank You letter that you can sign to have sent to Cadbury. I've made the pledge, now it's your turn.
