Profile of a Fair Trade Town: Media, PA

Published January 14, 2009 @ 10:06AM PT

On July 12, 2006, Media, Pennsylvania became the first Fair Trade Town in U.S. Through a collective effort of the people in the town, they came together to raise awareness of the Fair Trade movement and see to it that their town upheld their same values for social justice. This is their story.

It's in our best interest to see that the world develops fairly and that the people are able to take care of themselves and able to have food and not destroy the environment. I think that is what this Fair Trade movement is all about. -- Frank Daly. President, Media Borough Council.
