Fair Trade Federation's Reponse

Published March 11, 2009 @ 01:14PM PT

TransFair USA recently revealed the big news that they are increasing their scope of Certified Fair Trade products. I went ahead and asked Fair Trade Federation Executive Director, Carmen Iezzi her thoughts on the big move.

The Fair Trade Federation is pleased that the full spectrum of products which FLO certifies will now be licensed in the US. We believe that these efforts will continue to educate US consumers about the choices and the power that they have. FTF members have worked with these products and been deeply involved in these communities for many years, so we know the difference that fair trade partnerships can create for farmers. With these new licensing opportunities, we hope that the positive change created by Fair Trade will continue.

Thanks for sharing the Fair Trade Federation's thoughts, Carmen. I know you're a busy lady. To read more about Carmen Iezzi, you can check out her Face of Fair Trade feature on the blog.
